Power Generation – Plant design
About The Project
BASE was hired to create an FEL and FEED study for a new 22MW power plant in Alberta. The objective was to analyze different scenarios to build a power plant utilizing various engines and fuels. The new facility required Low Emissions, black start capability, high reliability, and be remotely operatable with low-cost operation. BASE’s knowledge of cost-effective, safe, and reliable power service for power plants was a key component of the project. The FEL and FEED studies are complete and Base will begin the design/implementation phase upon receiving funding approval.
Improvements/Results
- Researched and negotiated with multiple vendors to determine unit selection that met client criteria
- Provided solutions that met the key requirements of high reliability, low cost and remote operations
- Unit emissions are lower than other similar units
- Preliminary standards and layouts were created
- Regulatory approvals are complete
- Vendor pricing agreements have been negotiated
- Provided TIC to financers for high certainty of project funding
